Summer is upon us in Upstate New York: will we see any days that rank among the hottest in Albany history?

It is only May, and this week we are already expecting to see our first mini-heatwave of the season with temperatures near 90 over the next couple of days according to News Channel 13.

Since temperature records have been kept, the National Weather Service says Albany has only hit or surpassed the century mark 15 times. And I found this next stat even hotter, or harder to believe: we have not hit 100 degrees in Albany since 1953! How is that possible?

Maybe with a hot summer ahead, this will be the year we finally break the century mark and add to this list of the hottest days in Albany history!
