See A NY Mets All Star Pitch In Upstate New York On Tuesday
It's not too often that a guy making $43 million per year pitches in Upstate New York but thanks to the Syracuse Mets and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies we have that opportunity at times. Tuesday is one of those occasions and Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton should be rumbling with excitement. As of 7:30am there are still good tickets available!
Mets right-hander Max Scherzer is poised to rejoin the New York Mets. Scherzer has missed a little more than a month because of a left oblique strain. According to mets.com, the 3-time Cy Young award winner will pitch in a rehab assignment on Tuesday for Double-A Binghamton. Scherzer is scheduled to throw 60 to 70 pitches.
Binghamton is about 2 hours from Albany, right down Route 88. Mirabito Stadium is easy to get to and the tickets are cheap. You can still buy tickets close to the field for $13. There are no bad seats and to see Max Scherzer throw 60 pitches that closely, it's worth it. If you can't make it, you can watch it for free on MLB.com and MLB.TV.
Is the 37 year-old ready to get back at it with his first place teammates? “I can’t wait,” Scherzer told mets.com. “I came here to win and I want to be a part of it. We are good. We have been checking a lot of boxes, but we haven’t won anything yet. So many things could happen. You’re always just one injury away from being a completely different team. That’s why you have to keep your nose down, keep grinding. I understand we have played well. We have done a lot of good things thus far, but it doesn’t mean anything.”
Don't miss a great opportunity to see a future Hall of Fame pitcher in great seats for a cheap price. That doesn't happen too often these days. If you do go, you'll certainly have fun.
