New York Yankees’ Fans Share Panicked Responses After Star’s Injury Scare
The New York Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium by a score of 8-5. New York improved to 45-19 on the season, and extended their lead in the American League East to 4.5 games over Baltimore.
After the game, however, nobody talked about the score. The conversation following New York's win on Thursday was about one player, and one player only: Juan Soto.
Soto, the 25-year old phenom whom New York acquired this offseason, was abruptly removed from Thursday's game. This was an extremely bizarre development, as Soto had been one of three Yankees (Judge, Torres) to play in all 64 games this season.

Yet, when the Yankees took the field in the top half of the sixth inning, Soto was nowhere to be found. It couldn't have been a decision made in order to rest the player; the Yankees were only leading by three runs, and Soto was the first player expected to bat in the bottom of the inning.
It had to be injury-related, and soon after, the worst fears of Yankees' fans were confirmed:
Following the conclusion of the game, Yankees' manager Aaron Boone stated that this injury was not new; Soto's arm had been bothering him for roughly a week. Boone also said that Soto would undergo imaging on his arm on Friday, at which time a more specific injury designation will likely be assessed.
In the mean time, Yankees' fans were...well, see for yourself:
My personal favorite:
The New York Yankees begin a three-game series against the star-laden Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. I'd say it's fair to assume that Juan Soto will not be taking part in it.
