The Buffalo Bills have made the playoffs the last four seasons and five of the last six. They have become of the most consistent winners in the NFL under head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane.

It’s hard to believe that this franchise went 17 years in a row without a postseason berth.

From 2000-2016, the Bills did not qualify for the playoffs. Many of those teams were simply not good enough. Others like the 2004 and 2014 Bills, just had brutal losses which cost a decent team a playoff berth.

You ask most Bills fans and they adore many of the players on those teams, despite the lack of winning.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Lee Evans, Fred Jackson, Aaron Schobel, Brian Moorman, Kyle Williams, Bryan Scott, Terrence McGee and Eric Wood were just some of the lovable players.

Another was wide receiver Stevie Johnson, who was a 7th round draft pick of the Bills in 2008. He fought for two seasons to get playing time and eventually earned a starting role in 2010. He played with the Bills through 2013.

Johnson’s route running was some of the best in the NFL. He should have been more widely regarded as an NFL great.

Johnson adored his time in Buffalo and sometimes comes back to Western New York for appearances.

Stevie recently did just that at one of Buffalo’s most famous pizza places, Imperial Pizza. He was a guest on the Talking Buffalo podcast with Pat Moran, which sometimes is recorded at Imperial in South Buffalo.

Sometimes people forget just how much Johnson had to prove himself. He was a 7th round draft pick. He earned himself the number one receiver role for the Bills.

One of the most underrated Bills (outside of Buffalo).
