For the first time ever the big game in February is going to be streamed online as well as available on certain mobile devices if you have Verizon.

NBC will be carrying the Super Bowl this year. They  have been streaming all of their Sunday Night Football broadcasts during the season. They will also have the Wild Card Saturday games and the Pro Bowl streaming on their website as well.

The Streaming Coverage will have additional camera angles, live stats and of course and most important, replays of the ever so popular Super Bowl Commericials.

NBC has been streaming its "Sunday Night Football" telecasts for four seasons, and what the network has found is it's not just being used by fans who can't get in front of a set. Many of the page views come from people using the service as a complement to watching the game on TV.

NBC's streams on Sunday nights typically average 200,000-300,000 viewers, compared with 21 million for the telecasts. The network has seen no evidence it hurts the traditional broadcasts' healthy TV ratings. If anything, the extra options online may help keep fans glued to the games on their sets.

I personally think this is a great idea, there are folks out there who very well may not be able to be near a TV on Super Bowl Sunday. The fact they now have other options is a tremendous idea. Kudos to NBC and the NFL.
