All-Star, right-handed pitcher Zach Wheeler is preparing to start Game 2 of this year's World Series for the Philadelphia Phillies. After the 2019 season, the former New York Met was basically disregarded as he hit free agency, by his former employers, Fred and Jeff Wilpon. Wheeler still has plenty of friends in New York, including pending free agent ace, Jacob deGrom. On Thursday, after their pre-World Series workout in Houston, the Phillies ace shared some of his discussions with with his former teammate regarding deGrom's future with the Mets.

No one will argue the fact that Robinson Cano's best years were in New York. The 39-year-old represented the Yankees 5 times out of his 8 trips to the All Star game. Cano was part of the Pinstripes last World Series team in 2009. At the time, I would have bet that Robinson Cano would have been a Yankee for life. Then he left for a big contract.

In a season with plenty to complain about for Mets fans last night went about as perfectly as you could possibly hope. The Yankees come to your house as part of the four game split "Subway Series" looking like world beaters. Not only did the Mets beat them but they ended a historic streak AND Brodie Van Wagenen won over A LOT of the fan base.
