Who is doing the weather forecasting these days for the New York Yankees? For some reason the Yankees-Redsox Game Sunday night, in front of a national TV audience  with a great pitchers duel on tap turned into a fiasco of epic proportions...

Old rivals meet again.  This is really the rivalry though, not that silly Yankees-Mets thing.  Speaking of which, the Yanks come into the series with Boston in the Bronx tumbling down a hill, having lost four straight to the Mets.  Boston, meanwhile, comes off a series split with Phildelphia.  Here is a Boston-New York series preview.

There are so many good, young talented pitchers in Major League Baseball these days.  Justin Verlander just signed a big deal to stay in Detroit and is considered by many to be the best in baseball right now.  But over the next five years, is it still Verlander...

This afternoon is the first game of the 2012 MLB season pitting two of the bitterest rivals in all of American pro sports against each other: the New York Yankees visit the Boston Red Sox, and they will celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Fenway Park. Some would call it a historic piece of real estate, others would call it an over-rated piece of crap, but that’s another debate for another time.

Clay Buchholz is currently on the disabled list with a stress fracture in his lower back.  However, the right-hander believes he will return to pitch for the Red Sox this year.

While the Red Sox and Yankees have both gone 8-2 in their last ten games, Boston suffered a huge blow to their roster over the weekend with Carl Crawford and Clay Buchholz both going on the disabled list. The message in the Yankees clubhouse the next 2-3 weeks should be loud and clear: if you want to win the AL East, it's now or never.
