Unlike most fans and even many media folks I don't call for firings every time my favorite team loses. Every loss isn't the coaches fault, and going through coaches is usually non-productive. But, like anything else, there are exceptions to my own rules and Tony Sparano was an exception...

Late Tuesday the New York Jets announced that Brian Schottenheimer would not be back in 2012 as the teams offensive coordinator.  It's reported that Schottenheimer chose not to return.

Tough day for two NFL coaches. Tony Sparano of the Dolphins and Todd Haley of the Kansas City Chiefs were told to pack their bags and get out.  Let me say upfront unlike 98% of the football fans in America, I have other answers then just 'fire the coach'.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but don't the Miami Dolphins have a head coach?  It's Tony Sparano, right? Tell that to the 'Phins powers that be - because, apparently, they didn't get the memo.
