Former 16-year NFL veteran and UAlbany assistant football coach, Jim Sweeney unexpectedly passed away on Saturday. The news rocked the New York Jets organization, as well as Sweeney's friends and family at the University at Albany.
Sunday was a special day for the Bethlehem Eagles and one of their alumni. The Syracuse University Athletic Department held a special ceremony retiring the jersey of Bethlehem High School graduate and University at Albany women’s lacrosse head coach Katie (Rowan) Thomson. Thompson wore #21 during her four-year career with the Syracuse Orange.

UAlbany’s Nikki Branchini and Taylor Frink have been named to the Synapse Sports Division I Women’s Lacrosse All-America Team while John Battaglino was chosen Synapse Sports National Coach of the Year.
