Running In A Blue Dream
Running In A Blue Dream
There are so many fantasy scenarios going on with the Yankees it isn't even funny.  It's turned into "Dreamland" in the Bronx.  They aren't just playing baseball, and bad baseball at that.  They are giving people around the game the idea that things are getting better or that a scenario is going to play out soon when it has no chance.   Here are some examples.

Yankees-Athletics Series Preview
The Yankees continue their 11-day, 10-game West Coast trip with a three game set in Oakland.  New York comes off a successful series in Seattle having won three of four, including the last game in which Felix Hernandez pitched (no-decision for Hernandez).  Oakland, meanwhile, comes off a four-game series split with the White Sox.  Here is a Yanks-Athletics series preview.

The Teixeira Factor
Mark Teixeira continues to hit in simulated games but not active batting practice and hopes to be back by very late May.  The question is, Is he really going to help the Yankees?  Let's take a look at The Teixeira Factor, how he will help and hurt the Yanks at the same time by returning from injury (partially torn tendon sheath in his right wrist).

Talk all day long about the 2013 replacement players in pinstripes.  Talk about general manager Brian Cashman taking chances.  Talk about the starting pitching being good enough in spots.  Talk about whatever you'd like as the main reason for the Yankees' demise not quite happening just yet like some thought.  The real talk is the leadership and presence of Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Andy Pet
Vernon Wells – The Most Overpaid Player In Baseball
Vernon Wells – The Most Overpaid Player In Baseball
Let's face it - Yankee pitcher AJ Burnett stinks.  After giving up nine runs in just five innings of a 12-5 loss to Baltimore on Friday night, Burnett's days in the Yanks' rotation seemed to be numbered. Not exactly what the Yankees thought when they signed Burnett to a 5-year, $82.5 million deal in 2008. But as bad as AJ has been, he's not the most overpaid player in baseball right now.
