After mixed results in the first two days of the 2012 Olympic Games, the U.S. Swim Team came back with a fury in London today, scoring medals in three out of four events. Matthew Grevers and Nick Thoman went One-Two in the Men's 100M Backstroke, while young phenom Missy Franklin took home the Gold in the Women's 100M Backstroke and Rebecca Soni took the Silver in the Women's 100M Breaststroke.

On the men's side, a notable name missing from the medal stand was Team USA star Ryan Lochte, who finished fourth in the Men's 200M Freestyle finals. Yannick Agnel of France would take Gold, followed by Korean star Park Taehwan and Sun Yang of China.

Team USA would redeem itself just minutes later, as 17-year-old phenom Missy Franklin took home the first Gold Medal of her promising career in the Women's 100M Backstroke. She came in with an American Record time of 58.33 seconds, about four-tenths of a second clear of Australia's Emily Seebohm and a full half-second ahead of Aya Terakawa from China.

At around 8 p.m. in London (roughly 3 p.m. here in Albany), Matthew Grevers and Nick Thoman took home the Gold and Silver in the Men's 100M backstroke, with the bronze going to Ryosuke Irie of Japan. Grevers came home in a new Olympic Record time of 52.16 seconds, which is 0.38 ahead of the previous mark set by fellow American Aaron Peirsol at the 2008 Beijing Games.

The final medal event in Day Three of competition was the Women's 100-meter Breaststroke, where Rebecca Soni finished less than one-tenth of a second short of grabbing the Gold. She was beat out by Ruta Meilutyte of Lithuania, with Satomi Suzuki of Japan coming in third about a second later.

Day Four of the 2012 London Games will see four medal events tomorrow, including Michael Phelps looking for a record-tying 18th career medal in the Men's 200M Butterfly.
