Team USA Upset In FIBA World Cup Quarterfinals
In what some fans may consider a shocking turn of events, Team USA lost in the quarterfinals of the FIBA quarterfinals 89-79 to France. Utah Jazz stand out Donovan Mitchell led the way with twenty points for Team USA. The loss marks for the first for the country in the last fifty eight consecutive tournament games. The story line of this FIBA World Cup was the lack of big names involved in the event. No player on the 2019 FIBA World Cup roster was on the roster for the 2016 Olympics team in Rio. France will now play Argentina Friday in the World Cup semi final matchup. The championship will take place September 15th in Beijing.
