Well finally an off season move Mets fans can get behind. The Mets have agreed in principle to a 1 year deal with pitcher Shaun Marcum.

The deal is believed to be for 1 year so the risk factor is not bad. Marcum started off well for the Milwaukee Brewers last season but then was felled by an elbow injury.

Marcum went 7-4 for the Brewers but then missed the final  2 months of the season. Marcum is only 31 years old. he had a solid E.R.A. of 3.70 with the Brew Crew.

Over his career Marcum has a very healthy winning percentage with a career record of 57-36 over 7 season. he has averaged about 6 innings per start so that can give you some worry with that leaky Mets bullpen. Opposing hitters are hitting just .240 off Marcum in his career.
