Here’s What Radio Voice Keith Raad Predicts for 2024 New York Mets [LISTEN]
Tuesday afternoon, we were lucky enough to be joined on The Drive with Dan Bahl by Keith Raad, the radio play-by-play voice of the New York Mets.
Raad joined the Mets' radio broadcast team ahead of the 2023 MLB season, teaming up with New York Mets' Hall of Famer, Howie Rose. Raad replaced Wayne Randazzo, who left the Mets' booth to accept the television play-by-play job with the Los Angeles Angels.
Raad joined The Drive on Tuesday afternoon via video call, and helped us preview an intriguing 2024 season for the New York Mets. Raad stated that, though he knows that some fans expect a disastrous season, he does not feel that way.
Rather, he believes that there is too much respectability throughout the roster for a disastrous season to unfold.
Raad, like most Mets' fans, was disappointed by news of Kodai Senga's arm injury, but believes that the right-hander will return to the team, and will return to ace form when healthy.
Along those lines, he does not believe that the team will add another pitcher to the starting rotation. Signing a player like Jordan Montgomery or Blake Snell would not match up with the Mets' cycle, according to him.
That "cycle", as he put it, does appear to be targeting 2025 as a year of true championship contention.
If you were unable to join us for the show on Tuesday, here is the recording of our conversation with the outstanding Keith Raad:
