They’re Out! 104.5 The Team’s ‘Intern Mike’ Week 6 ‘Hot Picks’
As the NFL season rolls into Week 6, 'Intern Mike,' Giarraputo from 104.5 The Team's 'The Drive with Charlie & Dan,' comes into the Sunday slate with his chest puffed out and an impressive 15-9-1 record.
The Siena College senior and sports wagering scientist seemed very confident in this week's picks on Thursday, even though he picked the 1-4 Chicago Bears and the 2-2 Los Angelas Chargers as two of his 'Hot Picks.' No risk, no reward. So, with his Week 6 picks, here is 'Intern Mike':
Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans, 9:30 AM (London), NFL Network
The Ravens are coming off a brutal offensive performance against divisional foe, the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting up a measly 10 points in a loss. However, the loss was not indicative of how Baltimore plays as a team. The Ravens had five drops last Sunday, which is a ridiculously high number for any team. Baltimore ranks second in the NFL with 18 sacks on the season, and they now get a chance to line up against one of the league's bottom five offensive line units for Tennessee. The Titans may be able to slow down this rush attack, but Lamar Jackson is on a mission to right this ship, and you can count me in as a believer.
PICK: Ravens -4
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears, 1:00 PM, FOX
The Vikings will be without their star wide receiver, Justin Jefferson, for at least the next four games, while he recovers from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile for Chicago, their defense gets a huge boost by getting their number one CB Jaylon Johnson back in the lineup, along with safety Eddie Jackson. However, look out for the Bears offensively. Justin Fields has thrown four touchdowns in back to back games, a feat that no other QB has accomplished on the young season. Chicago keeps it rolling on offense in this one.
PICK: Bears +3
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars, 1:00 PM, CBS
Following another injury to 4th overall pick, Anthony Richardson, the Colts will be forced to turn the keys to the team over to, their more than capable backup, Gardner Minshew, as their signal caller. The former Jaguar will get a chance at revenge against a Jacksonville team who makes the trip home after two consecutive wins in London. Both squads have displayed that they can put up impressive box scores, making this tilt a relatively high scoring affair.
PICK: Over 44.5 Points
Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 PM, FOX
The Rams are officially healthy on offense, with wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nucua both tearing up the Eagles secondary last weekend. No James Conner for the Cardinals will prove to be costly in this one, with the pressure of beating Aaron Donald and this Rams defense being solely placed on QB Josh Dobbs. The Rams dominate here en route to a two score victory.
PICK: Rams -7
Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers, 8:15 PM (MNF), ESPN
The 49ers dismantled this Dallas team in front of 26 Million Sunday Night Football viewers last week. It’s pretty difficult to move past what we saw out of the Cowboys. Now dealing with several injuries on the defense, they’ll have to rely heavily on Micah Parsons to generate the pressure in this one. Former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is now at the same post for LA. He arguably knows more about Dak than anyone outside of the Cowboys building and we can expect that to play a factor. Plus, Joey Bosa, Derwin James and Austin Ekeler all look like they’re trending towards suiting up for this one. The Chargers are in a great spot here following their bye week.
PICK: Chargers +2.5
