Time To Get Cheesy In Washington County
Not many people I know do not like Cheese; Cheese is like bacon; it makes everything better! Case in point, cheese on Brussel sprouts is so much better!!!
All you cheese lovers, here is your chance to enjoy some cheese and help support a local non-profit simultaneously—Mark your calendar for September 10 and 11 for The Washington County Cheese Guild’s Annual Cheese Tour.
Samples from local farms will be on hand, The Argyle Cheese Farmer in Fort Edward, Dancing Ewe Farm in Granville, and Victory View Vineyard in North Easton.
The Cheese House on the Argyle Farm was built in 2007 by Marge and Dave Randles, which had been in operation since 1860.
The event is free, but the Cheese Guild is teaming up with Washington County’s Comfort Food Community, a Greenwich-based charity that provides food for those who need it, and they’re suggesting a $5 donation.
There are seven stops on tour, with two in Granville and one in West Pawlett, VT, one ending in both Salem and Hudson, and two in Schaghticoke.
The tour was created in 2005 by a small group of Washington County cheese makers as a way to bring more people to their farms.
