Two Months In, Harvey Shows Signs of Progress
With each start recently Matt Harvey is starting to return to old form. Sunday nights win in Pittsburgh was his best outing of the season. He might never be vintage Harvey again but if he can cut down on the number of walks, even if that means cutting down on his velocity, he can still be effective. Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Zack Wheeler still give the Mets one of the best rotations in the National League.
On top of that, Steven Matz and Seth Lugo were both impressive over the weekend in their rehab starts at AAA Las Vegas and AA Binghamton respectively. That likely means Robert Gsellman's days in the starting rotation are numbered despite putting together his best outing of the season Monday afternoon in a win over the Brewers.
