UAlbany Lacrosse Loads Up for Postseason Run
For the fourth straight year, UAlbany will host the America East men's lacrosse tournament, but the biggest or most important news to come out of Saturday is the health of Connor Fields. The senior attackman made it through UAlbany's 16-6 win at Hartford to clinch the conference tournament's top seed and he had a five point day with a goal and four assists.
It feels like UAlbany has fallen out of favor nationally, even locally to a degree, but if Connor Fields never sprains the MCL in his right knee, this team would be undefeated and on its way to the overall number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. UAlbany's two losses came where Fields either sat out entirely or missed the majority of the game.
Assuming the Great Danes get through the America East tournament unscathed, losses both by the final score and to the roster, they should still get a home game in the first round of the NCAAs with that quarterfinal hurdle yet to be cleared.
