UAlbany Prepares for FCS Playoffs with Campus Watch Party
With a win over its rival to close out the 2019 regular season, UAlbany is planning for an even bigger celebration with a watch party at SEFCU Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday's 31-26 victory against Stony Brook put the Great Danes in sole possession of second place in the CAA, a conference in which they were picked to finish last in the preseason poll. With a 6-2 record in CAA play, UAlbany is in prime position to reach the FCS playoffs for the first time under head coach Greg Gattuso and for only the second time in program history.
UAlbany jumped out to a fast 21-0 lead at Stony Brook behind two Karl Mofor touchdown runs and Jeff Undercuffler's 33rd TD pass of the season. The Danes hold onto the Golden Apple trophy but now also put themselves in contention to host a playoff game at Casey Stadium.
The FCS Playoff Selection Show is Sunday at 12:30pm on ESPNU and doors open to SEFCU Arena at noon.
