Coming off a Cleary Cup clinching 5-3 win at Colgate on Saturday night, the men's ice hockey team moved up to No. 7 in both national polls released Monday. The No. 7 ranking is the highest that the Dutchmen have earned this season.

Union has appeared in the USCHO.com poll for 59 consecutive weeks since the Dec. 7, 2009 rankings, extending a school record. Union has been ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll in 19 out of a possible 21 weeks this season.

No. 7/7 Union (20-7-7, 14-4-4 ECAC Hockey) improved to 12-2-4 in its last 18 ECAC Hockey contests, splitting games against Cornell and Colgate this past weekend in its final road trip of the season.

As the top seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, the Dutchmen clinched a first round bye and will have this weekend off. Union will begin postseason play with Game 1 of an ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series on Friday, March 9 at Messa Rink in a contest that begins at 7:00 p.m.
