Tennis Superstar Venus Williams along with Martina Hingis, John Isner and Chris Evert will be in Albany this summer as part of the World Team Tennis League. The will play this July in the SEFCU Arena on the Campus of UAlbany.

Venus of course has 21 Grand Slam Titles on her Resume including 5 Wimbeldon singles titles and 2 U.S Open singles titles as well multiple doubles titles in various tournaments. She also has 3 Olympic Gold Medals. She also holds the record for fastest serve by a woman in 4 different tournaments. She is a part of the Washington Kastles team.

John Isner will probably be remembered the most for his 11 hour Wimbeldon match against Nicholas Mahut in 2009. This is the longest professional Tennis match in history that went over 3 days because of lost light the first 2 days. Just this past weekend he defeated Roger Federer in the Davis Cup. Isner will be a part of the Boston Lobsters team.

Martina Hingis is a 5 time Grand Slam winner who retired from professional play in 2007. She also has 9 Grand Slam Doubles titles. She is a Part of the NY Sportimes team.

Chris Evert will not be playing in any matches but will be attending all team functions.

This is the second season since the merger of the New York Buzz and the Sportimes. Part of the deal with the merger was that two Sportimes games would be played in Albany.
