Vogelsong Hit In Face With Pitch

Former World Series champion with the San Francisco Giants, Ryan Vogelsong, had a rough day day Monday, landing him on the Pittsburgh Pirates disabled list come Tuesday afternoon.

Vogelsong ended up on the DL after x-rays showed facial fractures that he suffered from being hit in the face by a 91mph fastball by Colorado Rockies right-hander Jordan Lyles.

Vogelsong is expected to return to the team once the fractures are healed later this season.
