Star Hooper Who Dominated Capital Region’s ‘March Madness’ Visits Yankees [PHOTOS]
It's hard to name an athlete who's been more popular in 2024 than Caitlin Clark.
The 22-year old basketball star dominated in college this season, breaking both the men's and women's scoring records during her final year at Iowa. She won AP's Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season in 2024, and soon after her collegiate career ended, her pro career began, as she was chosen first overall in the WNBA Draft.
Recently, the WNBA entered into a midseason break, as players from around the league travelled overseas to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Clark was one of the players not included on Team USA's roster, a decision that was deemed controversial by many in the basketball world.
Clark made good use of the free time, however, as she travelled to Yankee Stadium instead, and spent the day in The Bronx wearing pinstripes. Take a look:
As part of her visit, she got the chance to catch up with another world-class athlete, Yankees' slugger Aaron Judge:
Clark has already started to rack up accolades in her first professional season, something she did regularly while in college. In June, she recorded seven three-pointers in a game, tying the league's single-game record for rookies. Then, in July, she became the first WNBA rookie, and the first member of the Indiana Fever, to ever record a triple-double.
For her efforts, Clark was voted into the WNBA All-Star Game, receiving 700,735 votes from fans, more than any other player in the league.

Simply put, she is currently one of the faces of professional basketball, if not all of professional sports. So, getting the chance to see her back in New York, interacting with world-class athletes on the diamond at Yankee Stadium, is pretty fun to witness.
