Which Upstate NY Pizzeria Will Barstool Sports’ Portnoy Visit Next?
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has spent part of this summer in the Capital Region, and has sampled pizza slices at ten of the Capital Region's best pizzerias so far. He's given ratings for every slice he's tried, ratings which have varied greatly, from the 7.9 he scored Marisa's Place in Guilderland, to the 1.2 he gave to 151 Bar and Restaurant.
It's been two weeks since Portnoy's last Capital Region pizza review was published on YouTube, so it would be reasonable to assume that he may be done viewing local area pies this year. That said, we have a local source who is claiming that a new pizza review video may be in-the-works very soon.
The only question left, is where?

With the 2023 meet at Saratoga Race Course coming to a close this weekend, Dave Portnoy will be leaving his home in Saratoga very soon. With that in mind, there is a finite amount of time for Barstool Sports to review the pizzas of the Capital Region, and that time is coming to a close quickly.
That said, it looks like there is at least one more local pizzeria that will be featured in a pizza review before the end of the summer. A source in Malta told us that Portnoy was spotted at Jimmy's Pizza in Malta last week, and that he and his film crew were very kind and courteous to patrons in the surrounding area.
Here is where Jimmy's is located, for those that do not know:
In order to be considered the 'best', Jimmy's Pizza will have some stiff competition from here in the Capital Region. Portnoy's highest rating in 2023 went to Marisa's Place in Guilderland. Here's how that review went:
No local pizzeria, however, has dethroned the all-time Capital Region pizza review king. That crown belongs to DeFazio's in Troy, and here is that review from 2021:
Now, all we can do is wait.
