The 4th of July is all about two things, the independence of this great nation and eating hot dogs! For the second thing no one has been more dominant then reigning Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest champion Joey Chestnut. Since Chestnut dethroned Takeru Kobayashi in 2007 he has only lost the "Mustard Color Belt" once. Matt Stonie pulled off the epic upset in 2015 eating 62 hot dogs to Chestnut's 60. Since then Chest nut has won the following three years with 70, 72 and 74 hot dogs and buns consumed respectively. So can Matt Stonie or Carmen Cincotti best Chestnut this year? I say no and Las Vegas seems to agree.
