With the MLB Winter Meetings set to begin on Sunday, December 9th the "Hot Stove" is heating up. Meaning there are more and more trade rumors and possibly big trades could start happening. The New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners have already made a huge James Paxton trade and now with reports they've already been in talks over former Yankee Robinson Cano could this latest rumor be true? Will adding one of the best Closers in the game sweeten the pot and get the deal done?

The original trade rumor was Cano to the Yankees for outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and cash. Reportedly the Yankees wanted way too much cash and the Mariners walked away. Now there's word that the Mariners are so motivated to part ways with Cano they'll add Closer Edwin Diaz to the deal. The 24 year old Diaz is coming off a season where he struck out 124 batters with an ERA of 1.96 on his way to 57 saves over 73.1 innings. Knowing Yankees GM Brian Cashman's love of strong pitching I'm starting to think this deal just might happen. There are four other teams reportedly in the mix Mets, Braves, Phillies and Red Sox. I can almost guarantee you the Yankees and Red Sox will do whatever they can to keep Diaz from the other team.
