After dropping the first two games of the series in Anaheim, the Yankees walked away with a win on Wednesday night.

Nathan Eovaldi pitched 5.1 strong innings and the offense pounded out 12 hits in the Yanks 3-1 victory. The win moves the Pinstripes to 42-37.

Eovaldi allowed no runs on just five hits and three walks. He also struck out three as he moves his overall record to 8-2.

The Yanks got the scoring going in top of the third when Chase Headley singled to center field. Headley went 3-5 for the day as his averages raises to .252.

The Yanks added insurance runs in the sixth and eighth innings on a Garrett Jones home run and a Didi Gregorius single.

The Angels' lone run came in the bottom half of the eighth on a Mike Trout homer. It was his 21st of the year.

The Yanks open up a Fourth of July weekend series on Friday when they welcome the Rays to Yankee Stadium. The two are battling in the AL East.
