The Section II community lost a fine individual recently. Roger Seward of Amsterdam, one of the big supporters of student-athletes in Section II, passed away.

I can remember covering post season high school girls basketball games at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy and Roger would be standing in the lobby before you entered the gymnasium.

He always had a smile on his face and took a few moments to talk about different things. I first met Roger when he worked in the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District and then Greater Amsterdam School District.

Roger was a gentleman and did his best to make sure you had everything you needed for the event.

Roger will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Contributions can be made to the Girls Basketball Scholar-Athlete Fund c/o Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Friend Home.
