It is that time of year again as both boys and girls basketball are set for Section II playoff sectionals in all classifications.  There are so many good teams in class AAA, AA, A, B ,C, and D.  Colonie boys are obviously the best team at a perfect unbeaten record of 20-0.  First year head coach Greg Davis has done a tremendous job with this group and they are the team to beat.  But one team I've got my eye on as a sleeper is Saratoga.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
Saratoga boys' basketball is getting hot at the right time of the year when the playoffs are set to begin. Getting senior Andrew Stallmer back in the lineup has made a big difference and Ryan Farr is playing at a high level too. Colonie with a perfect 20-0 record is the team to beat in Class AAA and Green Tech always plays its best basketball when the playoffs roll around but there are always a few upsets. Watch out for Saratoga the Blue Streaks are well coached and dangerous right now.

Let the February madness begin as several games will be at the UHY Center at Siena and McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College.  Every team wants to end up in Glens Falls at the Cool Insuring Arena the weekend of March 2nd.  There will be so many great games throughout the next few weeks and it is a chance for so many high school boys and girls to make their mark on Section II basketball forever.
