Brett Gardner is set to have Arthroscopic surgery on his injured right elbow next week. This procedure will likely end the season for the Yankee outfielder.

Gardner has been out since April 17th after attempting to make a diving catch. The injury didn't originally appear to be that severe but Gardner would suffer two setbacks while making minor league rehab assignments. Most recently he participated in a simulated game on Sunday taking four at bats and again felt discomfort in his elbow. Gardner would get another MRI and was told that surgery was necessary.

In the nine games that Gardner played this season , he hit .321 with 3 RBI's and  two steals.  Luckily for the Yankees, Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones have stepped up in the place of Gardner.
