Here we go again Yankees fans.

Last season Yankees Nation was fully invested in the 162 game farewell tour of Mariano Rivera, the greatest closer in MLB history. Now it's Derek Jeter's turn.

Jeter, the Yankees Team Captain and one of the greatest Bombers to ever play, has officially announced that this year will be his last. Jeter will certainly receive a similar farewell as Mariano last season, which included a ceremony at ever stadium they played.

Last season was a lost one for the shortstop, who missed all but 17 games with an ankle injury. Jeter is currently ninth on the all time hits list, three behind Paul Molitor for eighth. If Jeter were able to have one final amazing season, he could conceivably climb as high as fifth, jumping ahead of Tris Speaker. It's a long shot, but who is really going to put anything past a guy like Jeter?
