Johnny Velazquez is the all-time winning jockey at Saratoga Race Couse, but the Hall of Famer had a day on Saturday that may stand out among many of the rest. Aboard Code of Honor, the 47-year old jockey ran down his second career victory in the Travers Stakes.

As Tacitus, the morning line and post time favorite, and Mucho Gusto sprinted step for step in the stretch, Code of Honor came storming into the picture from the outside passing those two horses and leaving the rest of the 12-horse field behind.

Trainer Shug McGaughey gets to celebrate his fourth career win in the Midsummer Derby and his first in 21 years.

Code of Honor finished second in the Kentucky Derby and most recently won the Dwyer Stakes at Belmont Park in July. After the victory on Saturday at Saratoga, appearing on NewsChannel 13, NYRA Bets racing analyst Jonathan Fowler speculated about the future of the possible three-year old champion suggesting the Jockey Gold Cup at Belmont on September 28th could be next.
