The Madness is here! The NCAA Tournament bracket has been released, and as always... there were some surprises.

Kansas is the overall number one seed which makes perfect sense. The Jayhawks won the Big 12 Tournament title and comes in hot. They boast a great team led by Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden Jr. North Carolina is also a No. 1 and boasts a great inside-out combo in guard Marcus Paige and forward Brice Johnson.

The real surprises come with the selection of Virginia and Oregon as No. 1 seeds. Both teams are deserving of high seeds but the Cavaliers lost in the ACC finals while Oregon played in a down Pac-12. Michigan State on the other hand, won the Big Ten title.

Other surprises were the omissions of national darling Monmouth, St. Mary's, St. Bonaventure and San Diego State. Their omissions, coupled with the selections of Syracuse, Pitt, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Tulsa once again prove the small conferences aren't as valued as the large ones.
