Notre Dame And UConn Women Advance, Final Four Set
The women of Notre Dame and Uconn win on Tuesday night to round out what will be the final four. They join Stanford and Baylor.
Notre Dame 80, Maryland 49
A triple double performance from Skylar Diggins helped Notre Dame hand Maryland an 80-49 beat down. 22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for Diggins in the win. Natalie Achonwa added 18 points off the Irish bench, while Kayla McBride had 16 and Natalie Novosel would add 14. Maryland shot just 39% from the floor and were outscored by almost 20 points in both halves.
UCONN 80, Kentucky 65
The UConn women put on a show as well. Kentucky was able to hang in with them in the first half, but then the Huskies blew past them in the second half. Tiffany Hayes put up 22 points for UConn, and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis would help with 18 points. This is the fifth straight season that UConn has reached the final four.
The Final Four will be this Sunday night with a Big East match up between UConn and Notre Dame. Baylor faces Stanford after that, and both games can be seen on ESPN.
