Notre Dame Fans Blame Refs For Loss In BCS National Championship Game

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were obviously outclassed in last night's 42-14 loss at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship Game. However, the beginning of the game featured a couple of questionable calls that went in the favor of Nick Saban's squad. That, of course, led to some (not all) fans of the Fighting Irish and haters of the Crimson Tide to blame the referees for last night's poor performance. They took to Twitter to air their grievances.

Scott Landry (@spl1080): MVP of the BCS title game: the refs that killed Notre Dame's chances from the start of the game

✌ Chris Wedemyer ✌ (@Tweetamyer): The 2 missed calls by the refs in the 1Q really cost Notre Dame a chance, would have loved to seen that momentum swing #Pac12Refs #Why

Derek Zaffini (@Dzaff): The refs were the reason Notre Dame lost

Max Allen (@itzMJA): that was bull**** refereeing in the BCS National championship, Notre Dame would have had a fighting chance if the refs didnt **** em over

TaRon brown (@_youngkingz_): I ain't really care who won this game but the refs did notre dame wrong in the 1st half

Daniel McDermott (@DannyFBaby_): Btw the refs blew 3 calls in the first quarter..the fix was in. If you are an anti Notre dame fan chances are you have insecurity issues

Eli (@BigOx82): This game would probably be tied if the refs would've called those calls right for Notre Dame earlier....

Jared Stuffle™ (@jaredstuffle): I'm embarrassed for Notre Dame...can't do anything when the refs mess you up at the start

Brian Woigdka (@brianwoigdka): For Notre Dame to have had a chance in this game, they had to light the fire early and force turnovers. The refs blew it.

Anthony Bucci (@aBucciii): Notre Dame didn't have a chance when the refs were just against them in the first half
