After advancing to the NCAA tournament a season ago, the Siena Saints baseball team is just one win from an opportunity to play for another berth in 2015.

The fourth-seeded Saints topped No. 5 Monmouth yesterday by a score of 12-0 before topping No. 1 Rider in the nightcap, 5-4.

The wins mean that Siena is just one win away from advancing to the tournament's title series. The Saints will meet the winner of Canisius and Quinnipiac at noon on Friday.

Games are being played at Duchess Stadium in Fishkill, which is where the New York-Penn league's Hudson Valley Renegades play their home contests.

In game two, the Saints trailed 4-2 against Rider in the sixth when freshman Joe Drpich hit a three-run homer to give the Green and Gold a 5-4 lead that would end up being the final score.

Bryan Goossens led the way on the mound for the Saints, giving up four runs in a complete-game effort.

He struck out four and walked none.
