The Shenendehowa Plainsmen seem to always be in the mix when it comes to Tournament Baseball and talented young players. This season is no exception as the top seeded Plainsmen prepare to face eighth seeded Guilderland Tuesday at 4 pm Junior pitcher/Infielder Brendan Disonell is featured in the Times Union.

In the Times Union article Disonell shows the kind of team spirit I find refreshing. Disonell has committed to Division One Stony Brook and threw a no hitter against Ballston Spa on May 9th but still shares the credit with his team.

Q: How did you feel about your no-hitter, considering Ballston Spa has a few of the area's top hitters?

A: They have a lot of good hitters on that team, a few of them I played with together in summer ball. They are going to D-I schools, so I had to pitch them carefully. I knew where to pitch to them and my defense really made plays for me.

Good luck to all the teams and hopefully Brendan Disonell will be the latest in a long line of really good baseball players from the Capital Region.
