1 week ago 2 free agents. 2 guards. Similar strengths. Vast differences. Well traveled. Seen as spark plugs and yet enigma's as well. I am speaking of Knicks guard J.R. Smith and Bulls guard Nate Robinson.
Coming into the playoffs it was Smith whose value was on the high considering he was the 6th man of the year and seemingly had finally grown up
To say that the Chicago Bulls had a crappy night last night would be an understatement. They shot 25% from the field and had 42 points after three quarters, less than the Miami Heat had at halftime. Joel Anthony PLAYED for the Heat, that's how far down the Bulls were. Yet, perhaps the worst moment in the game came when Bulls guard Marquis Teague tipped a ball into his own basket.
2 weeks ago LeBron James is a man among boys. Physical beast. Skill set from the basketball Gods. Great scorer. Awesome passer. Plays four or five positions. Super hard worker to balance the unreal talent. He is a different player than Michael Jordan, but no matter how you slice it, he still isn't as great as Jordan was. With the fate of Game Two between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat already decided, Chicago Bulls big man Taj Gibson was the victim of a couple of particularly brutal calls. He was called for a traveling violation despite getting pushed, then was not awarded two points when Chris "Birdman" Andersen clearly was guilty of goaltending on one of his shots. Upset, and after Miami received a third straight favorable call, Taj Gibson decided it was the perfect time to absolutely flip out.
Derrick Rose has not played in a game for the Chicago Bulls for over a year. After blowing out his knee in round one of last year's playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers, he has been rehabbing, with a return during this post season a possibility. However, it does not look as if he is going to return to the court, as he is unlikely to play in Game One of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat.
