Well folks, the Saratoga season is in full swing.  And maybe you're wondering what it's like to be a gambler up at the famous Saratoga Race Course?  It's a little hard to put into words, but I certainly wanted to try.  I spent a day recording my thoughts before, during and after post time - Star Trek Captain's log style. The Saratoga Race Course is indeed the summer place to be. And the numbers for the 3rd week of the 40-day meet prove it.

Saturday's Saratoga racing card featured the 84th running of the Whitney Invitational.  This mile and an eighth race is probably the second biggest race (next to the Travers) Saratoga has to offer, though the Jim Dandy and the Alabama may have something to say about that.  Patrons of the ponies who made the trip up on this mildly moist Saturday were not disappointed in what was one of the hardest

With the Saratoga racing season around the corner, I thought I'd get everyone in the mood with a bit of horse racing humor. An ordinary carousel ride in New York City's Bryant Park turns into an unexpected horse race.

For the first time ever, horseracing fans across the country will get to see all of the major stakes races at Saratoga Race Course this summer. NYRA and the NBC Sports Group announced a partnership to broadcast “Summer at Saratoga,” live racing over seven weekends this summer beginning on July 23rd and including the $1 million Travers Stakes on August 27th.
