1,700 Mile Journey Along Mississippi River Complete
Shaun Evans has done it again. He's done what would be unthinkable to most, if not all, of us. The father of two sons from Galway finished his mission to run the length of the Mississippi River, from Minnesota to Louisiana, in the month of July. The stats on thi year's run: ~ 1700 miles in 29 days, countless calories consumed and most importantly, 18 running chariots donated to families with special needs children.
Ainsley's Angels mission gained all kinds of traction two summers go when Shaun ran from Seattle, WA to New York, NY spreading the message of inclusion while donating running chariots.
The mastermind behind these missions is Shaun's son Shamus, who has cerebral palsy. Shaun has always been a runner and a few years ago, Shamus decided he wanted in on it all. Thus, Power to Push was born. While running some charity 5Ks, Shamus was dreaming up a cross country journey and in 2015, the Evans family with the help of Ainsley's Angels and some generous sponsors, made Shamus' dreams come true.
With the Evans' families latest journey complete, Shaun joined Rodger and Chris to talk about the accomplishment:
