Met fans, rejoice!

Bartolo Colon, the cult hero of the Blue and Orange, is coming back to New York to help the Mets chase a World Series championship.

This is a good move baseball-wise too. The Mets traded Jon Niese earlier this offseason and aren't expected to get Zack Wheeler until early June. They need the depth that Colon can provide as a starter. They also just lost Dillon Gee to the Royals.

Colon went 14-13 with a 4.16 ERA a season ago. He went 15-13 two years ago so at age 42, Colon still has plenty left in the tank. He can slide into the bullpen when Wheeler is ready to go.

Reports say that Colon turned down more money from other organizations but that he wanted to remain in New York.

How could he not? He's a fan favorite. But more importantly, he can help the Mets try to get back to the World Series - and win it.
