The Philadelphia 76ers were finally first in something. On Monday morning, the team announced a partnership with ticket retailer StubHub to put their ad on the 76ers jerseys starting in the 2017-2018 season.

"We are about being first, being different, being innovative and getting to market at quickly as we can," 76ers CEO Scott O'Neil said. "We're thrilled that the NBA has decided to be an innovator among the major sports leagues in this country, we're happy that we will be the beneficiaries, and we know that being first here will drive value for our partner."

The 76ers become the first team of the four major U.S. sports to feature an ad on a jersey.

"We, as a company, have been very transaction oriented," said StubHub CEO Scott Cutler. "We want to be more a part of the emotional experience fans have with their teams, and we think a deal like this gets us closer."

The 76ers haven't had a 20-win season in the past three years and show no sign of turning the team around anytime soon.
