If you find an injured eagle you should call an expert like a Wildlife Rehabber. You may also call your state wildlife office, or licensed veterinarian. All indications are that this was an accident but according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act was put in place to hold people responsible for harming these amazing birds.

In 2005 an Florida company destroyed an eagle's nest tree in Sarasota County so that a housing development could be built violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. That company was fined $356,125 while an individual associated with the company also pleaded guilty and was sentenced in April 2006 to a $5,000 fine and three years on probation.
