Scott Wedgewood, called up from Trenton of the ECHL has done something no net minder in the brief history of the AHL's Albany Devils. That's win his 1st 2 starts. He accomplished that by leading the Devils to a big 3-2 win Sunday at the Times Union Center.

The victory over Adirondack followed up his debut win over Springfield the day before. This time Wedgewood turned aside 34 shots by the rival Phantoms. The Devils have beaten the Phantoms 8 of all times and got 1 point in 1 of the other 3 games.

The sizzling Joe Whitey scored his 4th goal of the 3 game weekend and his 21st overall, leading the team in scoring.

The game was tied after regulation and the 5 minute overtime. Wedgewood stoned all of Adirondacks shooters in that session as well. The Devils were out shot  badly 36-21.

Mike Sislo also scored for the Devils and Steve Zalewski added a pair of assists as the Devils won their 2nd straight. They dropped the opener of their 3 game weekend then defeated the 1st place Springfield Falcons before taking down the Phantoms again. The 2 teams play for the Time Warner Cup each season. Albany clinched that weeks ago.

Albany now hits the road for their longest road of the season, starting Friday at Rochester then heading north to Syracuse Saturday against the Crunch. Both games can be heard on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio.
