Albany native Dion Lewis returned to the practice field for the NFL's New England Patriots this week. Lewis, a former standout at both Albany High School and Albany Academy, has yet to play in a game this season for the Patriots, as he continues to rehab an injury he suffered last season. In November 2015, Lewis suffered a torn ACL in his knee, an injury that averages a six to nine month recovery process. However Lewis suffered a set back during his rehab process thus stalling his return to the field. Last season for the Patriots, Lewis had a combined six hundred yards rushing and receiving while registering four total touchdowns. The Patriots now have twenty one days to determine if Lewis will be activated to the team's fifty three man roster for the rest of the season. The Patriots currently have the NFL's best overall record at 6-1. This weekend the Patriots travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills. There is still no reported timetable on when Lewis could return to the field this season.
