Albany native and Mekeel Christian graduate Collin Stewart had 13 points last night in helping Monmouth upset Georgetown on the road by a score of 83-68.

Stewart played just 14 minutes but was remarkably effective off the bench, going 3-5 from the floor and 2-3 from behind-the-arc. He also added four rebounds.

I'm almost wondering if Monmouth is putting themselves in position to shake up the NCAA tournament in March. For instance, could they get into the tournament even if they don't win the MAAC?

If you're a Siena fan and you're pumped after the win in the Albany Cup, you need to now focus your attention on league play and the dangers that teams like Monmouth present.

And then there's also the fun sideshow that is the Monmouth bench celebrations. Yesterday they brought out one I hadn't seen before:

Collin Stewart is averaging 8.1 ppg this year for the Hawks, who are 7-3 overall.
