Albany Snowfall Totals Keep Inching Up, A Foot Possible For Some Monday
If you love a whole lotta snow, it looks like we are about to get the first big snowfall of Winter 2022 in Albany.
I am by no means a snow worshipper or hungry for snowfall after snowfall. I will leave that passion to the biggest winter sports enthusiasts. But, I will say I do appreciate the beauty of a good snowstorm from time to time when I get to hunker down for a snow day with the kids. Whichever of those camps you may be in, the first big storm of the season finally popping up in the forecast is a welcome sight!
How Much Snow Will We Get In Albany On Monday?
The latest Weather Channel forecast for Winter Storm Izzy has "inched up" the snowfall totals for the Capital Region. They are now calling for 8 to 12 inches for the area, depending on where you are. Looking at the snowfall map, Albany is right in the 8-inch band of accumulation while points west and north of Albany could see up to a foot of snow.
Before this one hits, we actually have plenty of sun coming all weekend but it will be cold with highs of 13 on Saturday and 23 on Sunday. The snowflakes will kick off sometime Sunday night and fall into Monday.
So finally - it's time to get those sleds ready for an epic snow day to wrap up the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend on Monday!
