The Albany Devils are advancing to the North Division Final after defeating the Utica Comets in the first round of the AHL Playoffs on Thursday night.

The Devils 6-3 win was aided by the Devils ability on special teams. Albany held Utica to an 0-6 on the power play. For Albany, Blake Pietila scored two goals after missing the first three games of the playoffs. Reid Boucher had a goal, his third of the playoffs. He's scored a point in nine straight games.

Scott Wedgewood made 32 saves in net for the Devils.

Albany will take on the Toronto Marlies in the North Division Final. Game 1 is May 4th.
