Barry Melrose Part of Inaugural New York State Hockey HOF Class
It was announced last week on Big Board Sports that there will be a new Hall of Fame in New York State. The sport that it will be acknowledged is hockey and rightfully so with the rich history of hockey not only in New York State as a whole but specifically here in the Capital Region. Barry Melrose was an obvious choice and we congratulated him on the show this morning. Listen to that interview above and hear his take on the Rangers new head coach, who is the favorite for the Stanley Cup now and why Barry Trotz may be the best coach in hockey right now.
Tonight is not only a big game for the Islanders but it is also a big game for the Nets. Brooklyn won’t have James Harden or Kyrie Irving in the lineup for game 5 on Tuesday night against Milwaukee, and that spells big trouble for the Nets. When Kyrie went out of game 4 in the second quarter with an ankle sprain, the Nets looked lost. Everyone stood around and watched Kevin Durant. With 2/3rd’s of the big 3 out, the Nets dream of winning a championship are over, unless the rest of the players not named Durant step up. If the Nets don’t win Tuesday at the Barclays Center, this series will end in game 6 at Milwaukee. Now there is an outside chance that Harden as it is reported that he is determined to play but I think that would be a mistake if he is not 100% ready to roll.
