In the eyes of the fans, there's no way that Tom Brady helped himself by talking to Bob Costas about DeflateGate.
Using the response of, "The NFL is investigating and I have been asked to not further comment" is an easy way out.

But instead, Brady dug himself a further hole, "Hopefully the facts come out," said Brady. "We understand that whatever happened, happened. It's not going to have an effect on this game and we can move foward."

Costas even straight up asked Brady if fans will know the truth and be able to respect him more once we get the answer, and Brady used some "people will feel however they feel" rebuttal.

When someone is innocent, they say, "I did not do this", not, "we'll see what happens".

Brady is guilty.
